StockLogos.com Shutdown and where to go from here
Stocklogos.com have announced that they are shutting down the site on January 30th.
They have not specified any reason why too but when a business shuts down it's usually due to lack of profitability.
Stocklogos.com was an e-commerce shop where designers published their logos to sell to business owners who were looking for a quick and affordable logo design for their business.
Why Stock logo Shutdown?
Although Stock logos was a reputable company, we cant say all the designers were ethical, we have seen one too many times a logo posted on the site which was too closely resemble an existing company logo without much care. These types of practices are unacceptable. We also understand its very hard to track and penalize each designer. We won't say this was the case to all designers who submitted their logo. But it happened. It is very hard and expensive for a company like a logo stock to verify each submitted logo, to make sure that it does not infringe on any other companies copyright, and then try to sell it for a couple of hundred dollars and turn a profit for themselves and the designer. Which makes us wonder if copyright infringement complaints had anything to do with their decision to shut down.
